1. Understand what we are here to do
Quantum’s aim is to advise you on your career – not simply to forward your CV indiscriminately. Sometimes the best advice is NOT to move jobs!
Your agency is bound by client instructions, wishes and minimum criteria – we cannot go against such instructions, even if we want to!
Some clients will not provide us with feedback on all applications – although we will always try to gain their thoughts and comments on your application.
2. Be honest and up front
It is imperative that Quantum understands your “bigger picture” – your motivation to move jobs; where you have applied recently (to avoid duplication and to build a picture of your ideal role); what your minimum expectations are in terms of job title, progression and salary. In short, the more information Quantum has about you – the better placed we are to provide you with objective advice.
3. Be pro-active
This is your career – therefore, you must be active in the recruitment process. We advise you to research the market in order to decide which organisations and industries you are interested in, as well as keeping up with industry developments by reading trade press regularly (this will also assist you in interview!). We highly recommend that you study our Guide to Competency Based Interviewing – as this will allow you to get your skills and experience across clearly.
4. Quantum Website
Our website is updated regularly – usually daily. Why not register on-line in order to receive daily updates on suitable jobs?
5. Regular contact
It is essential that your recruitment consultant is kept aware of any updates such as promotion, change of salary, new skills/experience, redundancy – or even if you have found a new job.
Undoubtedly, the best way to keep in touch with your recruitment consultant is via email – after all, a good recruiter won’t spend too much time at their desk! However, if you are leaving a telephone message, please ensure that as well as your name and reason for calling, you leave a telephone number.
We advise that you send your consultant an "update email" approximately twice monthly outlining recent applications, interviews and / or change of circumstances.
6.Working together
Mutual respect and total honesty will ensure that your recruitment consultant works well for you. When we have placed you in your next role, we will keep in touch for up to 12 months in order to ensure that there are no teething problems.
